Construct the Drop-In/Island Framing (cont.)

NOTE: The subﬂoor must be no lower than 16-1/2″ (41.9 cm) below the masonry island. The subﬂoor

installation should allow 1/16″ (2 mm) clearance for sealant between the island and the lower rim of the

empty bath.

Construct the island of brick or concrete.

Add tile or other ﬁnish material, leaving a 1/16″ (2 mm) clearance for sealant between the island

and the rim of the bath.
